A fascinating segment aired recently on 60 minutes reveals how globally respected ideas firm IDEO incorporates human behaviour.

It got me to thinking how design is something that pervades every aspect of our lives. Every time we sit, stand, lie down, use an object or simply look, listen, taste and touch, more often than not something designed will be part of that experience. Whether it’s good design or bad design is a different question altogether.

The central idea raised in the interview of designing around the human response is one which I think is often completely forgotten or implemented poorly in those things we find around us every day. In our websites we endeavour to provide solutions which take human behaviour into account, websites which are painless to use and keep the user engaged.
